Cheerleading Code of Conduct
Purpose
Our cheer program is committed to creating a positive, safe, and encouraging environment where athletes can grow in skill, confidence, teamwork, and character. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all athletes and families participating in our program.
Athlete Expectations
All cheerleaders are expected to:

Demonstrate respect toward coaches, teammates, officials, and spectators at all times

Show good sportsmanship, whether winning or losing

Come to practices, games, and events on time and prepared

Follow all instructions from coaches and staff

Maintain a positive attitude and support teammates

Use appropriate language and behavior at all times

Take care of uniforms, equipment, and facilities
Parent/Guardian Expectations
Parents and guardians are expected to:

Encourage their child in a positive and supportive manner

Show respect to coaches, staff, officials, and other families
-
Allow coaches to coach — no sideline coaching or interference

Address concerns in a respectful and appropriate setting (not during games or in front of athletes)

Ensure athletes arrive on time and are picked up promptly

Promote a drama-free, team-first environment
Sideline & Game Day Conduct

Cheerleaders are expected to remain focused and engaged during games

No negative comments toward players, referees, or opposing teams
-
Represent the organization with pride, positivity, and professionalism

Follow all safety rules and instructions at all times
Social Media & Public Behavior

Athletes and parents must represent the organization respectfully both in person and online

No bullying, negative comments, or inappropriate content related to teammates, coaches, or the organization

Any behavior that harms the reputation of the program may result in disciplinary action
Attendance & Commitment

Cheer is a team sport — attendance matters

Excessive absences may affect participation in games or performances
-
Notify coaches in advance if an athlete will be absent
Disciplinary Actions
Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in:

Verbal warning
-
Temporary suspension from practices or games
-
Removal from the team (depending on severity of behavior)
All decisions will be made with the goal of maintaining a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all participants.
